Ergenics® solar hot water-powered air conditioner system consists of 3 main parts:
Solar thermal collectors (flat panel or evacuated tube)
Ergenics® patented hydride heat pump
AC heat exchanger (air handler)
The hydride portion is hermetically sealed, there are no moving parts or seals in contact with hydrogen; its flow depends solely upon temperature differences.
An insulated tank can be used for balancing or to store the chilled water. The same tank can be used in the winter to store hot water for domestic or space heating applications.
